The student’ revolution was lasted only 16 days in October of 1990-th. It became the impetus for the exit of Ukraine from the USSR. The central square of the Ukrainian capital (Kyiv) has been covered by granite plates in those times. And that’s why the name of that revolution is "Revolution on granite." The students have chosen such forms of protest as: starvation, blocking the main streets, occupying strikes. Exactly such forms of the protests have being ensured the victory for them. These young people have shown that the alternative reality to Soviet Union is really possible.

In 1972, the village Husyntsi was flooded by the waters of the water reservoir named Kanev. The local residents were settled in the cities, and all the rest were simply died under the water. There was was a church on the edge of the village (on the butt) that miraculously survived. And it is staing in the middle of a small island on the Dnieper River. People are floating to that church on the boats in summer, and are going by ice in winter.

"Cold Ravine" - is one of the brightest pages of the struggle for liberationa in Ukraine. This is a live example of how a small number of people but strong in spirit can fight successfully much stronger enemy.
Unfortunately not so much people know that there was a kind of "republic" on the Dnieper river. It was the times when the Moscow red horde have being invaded Ukraine. The "republic" hauled bitter the armed struggle under the Ukrainian national flag up to the 1922 year. The places where it was going on were the villages around the Cold Ravine in the Chyhyryn region.
