“Brave to Rebuild” is not just a volunteer initiative; it’s a genuine union of people who have come together to breathe new life into Ukrainian cities and villages ravaged by war.
“People in reoccupied territories wanted to return to peaceful life as quickly as possible. That’s why this initiative with the motto ‘Courage to Rebuild’ was born,” recalls Vitaliy Selyk, leader and co-founder of the BRAVE Foundation.
Every weekend and weekday, volunteers organize community work: clearing debris, repairing damaged residential buildings, and social institutions. Their courage and assistance give people hope for a better future.
Besides clearing rubble and construction, the “Brave to Rebuild” initiative collects and distributes humanitarian aid, helping people survive the winter and restore their homes, rebuilds destroyed schools, and does many important things for the country’s recovery, as you can learn from the video.
“The war we are currently experiencing is a reboot point,” says Vitaliy Selyk. “And now is the moment when you can continue living as before or start living anew. Recovery is not just about bricks. It’s about resetting our mindset.”
The video was created as part of the project “EU Regional information and cultural diplomacy activities 2022-2023”, financed by the Representation of the European Union in Ukraine.
