There is always confusion with these concepts. Once, we realized that we were talking with the Customer about different things, when the project was completed. To avoid these situations, read our blog and follow us on Facebook. Under the hashtag #VocabularyVideoTerms, Divaki Production explains the professional concepts of production studios, that you will definitely need when producing video.

Titles are captions in the video: introductory titles, titles in the middle of the work or final titles.

As a rule, they are large enough and do not duplicate the voice over text. They only reinforce it or denote some terms.

Often, they are perceived as a complete graphic element of the entire structure of the frame. And designers create them with the animation, not after they’ve done the whole video.

If someone talks in the video, and a caption appears nearby (such as “Bogdan Ermak, an agronomist“), it is also titles.

But Subtitles is a literal text version of the dialogues and voice over, that follows the video.

Often, these are small enough inscriptions at the bottom of the screen. Subtitles are also used to translate foreign videos.

It means that, “Bogdan Ermak, an agronomist” and the inscriptions “TARIFFS”, “TAXES”, that you see on our picture are the Titles.

But: “- It was me, who killed Erica“, is a classic example of Subtitles.

The main thing is the manwhotypestitles does not confuse anything.
